This week’s Syracuse Orange injury report has arrived, and there’s been progress in some spots, and regressions in others.
First, the names you’ll need to know:
Probable: WR Sean Avant, DT Shaq Grosvenor, TE Kyle Kleinberg, S/CB Jordan Martin
Questionable: DE Kendall Coleman
Doubtful: DT/DE Josh Black
Out: CB Scoop Bradshaw, S Antwan Cordy, OT Liam O’Sullivan
Grosvenor’s return is a positive given the depth issues, even if he hasn’t played much to date. We weren’t really aware Martin was hurt, but it’s good to see he should be ready to go as well.
Coleman hasn’t played since the LSU game, but it would seem he “may” be primed to return. With him and Pickard both on the edges, it would greatly assist the Orange pass rush, which has hit its stride of late. The group had four sacks last week. Josh Black remains doubtful, which is still a big blow to the line.
The other day, we’d noted Scoop Bradshaw being in a sling, and this confirms he’s out with that injury (hopefully not for too much longer). Cordy remains out. We’ll see if he can return after the bye.
For the Miami Hurricanes, there are injuries to report, obviously. But some bigger names like Ahmmon Richards, Michael Pinckney and Sheldrick Redwine are all healthy. Dee Delaney will miss this game, however.
