While the line for the Syracuse Orange and Miami Hurricanes game this Saturday continues to creep higher (was at Miami -16.5 last I checked), ESPN’s not phased at all.
The Worldwide Leader rolled out this commercial below, which was spotted by Otto’s Grove. LET’S GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Just caught this ad on ESPN. The hype is real. pic.twitter.com/1XfRdTkx1A

Syracuse football gets promo spots on ESPN whenever a game is on the network, but this is the first time in awhile we’ve had the full treatment in pre-game. We discussed on Slack, and the consensus is the 2014 Notre Dame game was probably the last one of these we got to see. That’s a sad commentary in some ways. But a pleasant one about the current state of things, in another.
What we noticed in the spot:
Things starting with a Florida State fan in the forefront is peak Miami trolling.
Agreed there, ESPN.
Spelling checks out.
Fact.
‘Sup, Dabo...
Despite watching Friday night’s game twice now, it still feels weird to call Syracuse “giant killers,” no? We’ve just been through too much to embrace it, even if it is true by definition after the Clemson game.
In the College Football Playoff? I wish. But thanks!
It’s very easy to forget this is a conference game, but yeah, this is our fifth year back in the same league with the ‘Canes. Also, that number in front of Miami’s name is not as intimidating as it would’ve been a week ago. We’re on a jubilation bender, clearly.
Syracuse and Miami kick off at 3:30 p.m. ET from Hard Rock Stadium on ESPN this Saturday.
