Dino Babers knows exactly how to make the most bang for Syracuse Orange football’s buck after a program defining win like the one last night. Much like last year, Babers quickly made his way to ESPN’s SportsCenter to talk about SU football while the crew on College GameDay sang SU’s praises.
On Eric Dungey’s career game:
“I told Eric a story of a trojan slayer. We had a similar situation at UCLA when we beat USC when they were second in the nation. Our quarterback was Cowan... I told him he needed one of those stories in his novel before he was done here.”
On which “viral” speech was better, this year’s or last year’s:
“Rick Neuheisel talked so bad about our locker rooms that we got a new set of rooms. So I think that’s the playbook for getting us new lockers.”
On Dabo Sweeney’s post game visit:
“It does not surprise me. He’s a first grade class act and I guarantee you that if someone comes to me and says ‘Dabo Sweeney wants to talk to the team,’ I’m going to say ‘Let him talk!’”
And how why he hasn’t been able to talk to the team yet:
“When I got back, they were all so broken out, I think they were headed to the Library.”
There’s a library at Castle Court, right?
