Elite five-star prospect Hamidou Diallo has committed to Kentucky, he announced on Saturday evening.
Diallo, a 6-foot-5 wing from Putnam Science Academy, was down to Syracuse, Kentucky, Indiana, Connecticut, Arizona and Kansas.
Diallo intends to enroll at Kentucky for the spring semester, but won’t suit up until next season, according to 247Sports. There had been previous reports that Diallo wanted to suit up this season and enter the 2017 NBA draft, but that doesn’t seem to be the case anymore.
Kentucky is getting a fierce athlete that has a killer instinct to drive to the basket. His athleticism separates him from anyone in the 2017 class, and his ability to attack the basket makes him extremely difficult to guard. His 3-point shot is a work in progress, but something that is improving by the day.
Diallo gives Kentucky a five-star prospect at every position in the 2017 class — which is unheard of.
Syracuse, on the other hand, has two commitments in the 2017 class: Oshae Brissett and Bourama Sidibe.
