Hamidou Diallo’s crazy recruitment will finally come to an end on Saturday.
Diallo will choose between Kentucky, Arizona, Syracuse, Kansas, Indiana and UConn, according to the NY RENS Twitter account.
The five-star prospect will announce his college decision on January 7, and will enroll at the selected school for the Spring semester. Despite previous reports, Diallo won’t suit up until the 2017-18 season, according to 247Sports.
He’s eligible due to completing high school in 2016. He’s currently enrolled at Putnam Science Academy in a post-graduate year.
Diallo plans to enroll in school for the Spring semester, continue to workout and improve and will be ready to play next season. He’ll likely enter the 2018 NBA draft despite being eligible for the 2017 draft.
Diallo took official visits to UConn and Kentucky, which are presumably both ahead of Syracuse. He was rumored to wanting to play together with five-star Quade Green in college. When Green chose Kentucky, the Orange slipped in Diallo’s recruitment.
Expect John Calipari to land another elite prospect on Saturday. That’ll give UK a five-star recruit at every position in the 2017 class.
