Oh, Canada! While Syracuse fans wait for the majority of SU’s 2017 recruiting class to sign their respective National Letters of Intent on Wednesday, Canadian offensive lineman Patrick Davis has already signed his financial aid agreement and is on campus. Davis committed to Syracuse in August, before officially signing in early January.
Hometown: Quebec City, QC
High School: Champlain Regional College
Position: OL (has experience playing guard, tackle and center)
Stats: 6’5”, 297 pounds
Commitment Date: August 6, 2016
Ratings: Three stars by both ESPN and 247Sports, two stars by Scout and unranked by Rivals.
Other Offers: In addition to Syracuse, Davis received an offer from Buffalo and North Dakota State.
Dino’s Projected Nickname: “The Canadian Moose of linemen”
Syracuse’s offensive line last season was decimated by injuries and failed to keep starting quarterback Eric Dungey healthy for the second straight year. While it’s unlikely Davis sees much – if any – playing time, he could potentially develop into a key contributor down the road.
Davis is rated three stars and the No. 169 offensive tackle in the Class of 2017 by 247Sports. Davis is one of two offensive lineman prospects in Syracuse’s 2017 recruiting class. He is joined by thee-star offensive tackle Dakota Davis.
