Syracuse vs. Louisville: Injury report indicates Custis, Morgan, Morris all out

A short list of absentees for Friday... is this it?

NCAA Football: Syracuse at Central Michigan Raj Mehta-USA TODAY Sports

Last week, there was no official injury report for the Syracuse Orange, but we did eventually end up with an extended list of players who did not dress. For Friday’s matchup with Louisville, we get an official report, and it’s rather thin.

According to the report, SU will only be without wide receiver Jamal Custis, cornerback Wayne Morgan and running back George Morris II. None of those players were active last week either. There’s been minimal updates on the conditions of the three players, save Morris, whose ankle injury was first announced in mid-August.

So does this mean that’s the full list? Tough to tell. Last week’s inactive list wasn’t just injury-related, but some of those players (like safety Devon Clarke, who’s been in a sling for weeks) have been nursing injuries and there’s no telling whether they’ll actually be returning this week or not.

Until we hear otherwise, we’ll accept this list for what it is, and hope that means a healthier secondary to go up against Louisville on Friday.
