The Syracuse Orange men’s soccer team suffered a very difficult 2-1 loss to Notre Dame on Friday, but their chances are far from tanked this season. In today’s first NCAA RPI release, Syracuse (8-1-0) comes in at no. 5.

As you’ll notice above, the ACC is all over the top of the rankings, with five of the top six teams. Loyola Chicago (fourth) was the only non-ACC interloper in that group.
On Monday, Syracuse feel from first to third in the TopDrawerSoccer.com rankings, with Notre Dame (first) and North Carolina (second) grabbing the spots ahead of them.
Syracuse faces North Carolina at home this Friday, September 30 as they try to get back in the win column.
This week’s NSCAA coaches poll also lists Syracuse as the third-ranked team. They’re right behind Maryland and Notre Dame there.
