And we continue to get to know the Syracuse Orange Men’s Soccer program.

Name: Jake Keller

Position: Forward/Midfield

Year: Sophomore

Height: 5’11”

Weight: 173lbs

Hometown: Wappingers Falls, NY

High School: Roy C. Ketchum

Club Teams: Soccer Plus Academy

2015 Stats: Keller didn’t see the pitch last year, so he’s eligible for a redshirt if he needs it down the road.

2016 Projections: Most likely he won’t slot in in the first team this year. He’s definitely a valuable squad player for the team at this point, but we’ll see more when camp breaks this fall. Stay tuned.

How'd He Get Here?: He was identified through the Syracuse ID camp and then recruited from there. Being local-ish in Wappingers Falls, he definitely was aware of the program before he got to the Hill.

Money Quote:

“I chose Syracuse because it felt like family the first time I stepped foot into the facilities and met the coaches and players... ...Everyone at Syracuse felt like they wanted to be there, they wanted to get better.

In Jake’s conversation with the Hudson Valley Sports Report, he was impressed with the familial feel. We’ve seen that a few times with quotes from players and I can’t help but love that the squad is throwing that vibe out there to recruits.

Tweets of Wonder: A lot of RTs. He’s not amazingly active though, so enjoy?

What Does the Coaching Staff Think?:

"A technical player with a good passing range, he possesses a real passion for Syracuse University." - Coach McIntyre when Keller was recruited
