Continuing on the familiar series, time to Get To Know Your Orange for the Syracuse Orange men’s Soccer team.

Name: Kalifa Sylla

Position: Forward

Year: Junior (JuCo)

Height: 5’10”

Weight: 165

Hometown: Paris, France, native of Guinea

High School: Arts & Technology

College Team: Monroe College

JuCo Stats: 2014 (MC) - 7G, 4A; 2015 (MC) - 5G, 3A

2016 Projections: Should slot into that workhorse role on the wing in the 3-5-2 or possibly the off-striker, by what Coach Mac has said. I’m not sure on whether he’ll start, but he seems to be in a spot to be getting minutes.

How'd He Get Here?: The transfer from Monroe College caught the eye of the coaching staff and decided to move up the Thruway from the friendly confines of the Bronx to the also friendly confines of Syracuse. He’s going to get a little more snow up here...

Twitterfeed: Doesn’t seem to exist... kids these days...

What Does the Coaching Staff Think?:

Coach Mac stated the following:

"Kalifa brings an athleticism, energy and power to our team," McIntyre said. "With the graduation of Noah Rhynhart and Korab Syla, we feel that we have found an ideal replacement. Kalifa possesses an exciting, unpredictability in the final third."

Not bad praise for the man. By the sounds of it he’ll fill the workhorse shoes of Rhynhart and Syla, both of which were integral in last year’s run.
