The Syracuse Orange (3-0-1) have shown zero signs of stopping their winning ways after defeating Albany (1-3-0) Sunday afternoon at the SU Soccer Stadium.
Senior defender Maddie Iozzi got things started with her 25-yard shot in the fourth minute of the game. Iozzi had missed four times over the course of the first three matches but was finally able to connect for the early score.
Syracuse and the Great Danes would trade off shot attempts before the Orange got a chance to go up by two on a free kick. Freshman defender Taylor Bennett booted the ball into the back of the net for her first collegiate goal.
The teams would trade some more shots before the end of the half.
Albany tried to gain some momentum at the start of the second half, but Syracuse put the pressure on them, assuring junior goalkeeper Courtney Brosnan of her third-straight shutout.
