The predictions continue to roll in and this time it's the gang from CBSSports.com making theirs.
Of the seven experts who ranked out their ACC Atlantic picks, two think the Syracuse Orange will finish dead last in the ACC (Jon Solomon & Jerry Palm, two think the Orange will finish sixth (Dennis Dodd & Tom Fornelli), two think the Orange will finish fifth (Robby Kalland & Chip Patterson) and #loyalidiot Ben Kercheval thinks SU will finish fourth ahead of Wake, NC State, and BC.
Don't get too mad at Dodd (this time), because he includes Syracuse as his pick as the Most Underrated Team, though he is thinking a bit more long-term than 2016.
Syracuse: I'm not going to blow smoke at anyone. The Orange will most likely finish sixth or seventh in a loaded Atlantic Division. But Dino Babers is changing the entire culture. He will eventually recruit elite, fast athletes to run his hurry (way) up spread. Since 2010, the former Art Briles assistant at Baylor has worked with offenses that have finished lower than 13th nationally only once.
That's the theory, at least. Nice to see we're not the only ones thinking it.
The crew was split between FSU and Clemson as ACC Champ (of course). FSU was the most-picked ACC Atlantic winner, edging out the Tigers 4-3. Miami, Pitt, and North Carolina all got two picks to win the Coastal while Virginia Tech snagged one.
The only universal pick? Louisville will finish third in the ACC Atlantic, though Virginia got almost all of the votes for last-place in the Coastal as well.
