So much for primetime.
The Syracuse Orange will host the hated Georgetown Hoyas on Saturday, December 17th at noon as the two former Big East Conference foes will meet for the 92nd time.
The Orange will be looking to avenge their defeat at the hands of the Hoyas last season. Syracuse went down to Washington, D.C last season and lost 79-72. That game came in the middle of Jim Boeheim’s nine-game suspension, and the Hoyas proved to be too much for the Orange, who sorely missed their head coach.
After their contest in early December last year, the two teams finished on opposite sides of the spectrum. The Orange squeaked into the NCAA tournament and had a magical run to the Final Four. The Hoyas on the other hand, went 7-11 in Big East play and finished the year at 15-18 (chortle...).
Syracuse will face some good competition this season in the non-conference schedule. The Orange will also play South Carolina in Brooklyn, travel to Wisconsin, play UConn in MSG, and host St. John’s.
