Jones joins the Orange following a state championship season at St. Edward.

Year: Freshman

Height: 6-1

Weight: 177 lbs

Hometown: Twinsburg, Ohio

High School: St. Edward

2015 Stats: Registered 24 tackles and defended nine passes on defense as a high school senior last year. He also caught 28 passes on the offensive side of the ball.

2016 Projections: Carl is a young player who may not see the field in his freshman campaign — though you never know given Syracuse’s struggles in the secondary.

How’d He Get Here?: Jones also had an offer from Army.

What Did Recruiting Sites Say?: He was rated three stars by ESPN, and two stars elsewhere.
