Get to know your Orange: Men’s Soccer #23 Khedive McIntosh

Freshman Khedive McIntosh could possibly provide some depth on the wing and at the number six role this year.

Name: Khedive McIntosh

Position: Midfield/Wingback

Year: Freshman

Hometown: Jackson, NJ

High School: The Lawrenceville School

Club Team: Match Fit Academy FC

2015 Stats: His senior year of prep, McIntosh was named to the NJ All-Prep First Team as an Honorable Mention. It’s the same regional squad his new teammate Jake Leahy (Who you can get to know here) received honors for. McIntosh actually scored on his future teammate in that game.

2016 Projections: Not sure exactly where he’ll slot in. In Coach Mac’s system, there’s always a need to spell the wingbacks at times as their workrate is pretty well off the charts. Liam Callahan will need a rest at some point, as will Oyvnid Alseth in the number six role.

Everything that has been noted in my research is that he’s great with the ball at his feet. Combining that with his physical nature and defensive acumen should be able to translate to the next level.

Money Quote: His former coach at Lawrenceville, Blake Eldridge, stated the following about McIntosh’s best assets:

“...optimism, heart, and his ability to navigate tight spaces with the ball. Add to that his strength, and opponents are very often surprised by how physically he plays the game. He sends messages with his tackles and talent.”

Twitterfeed: Seems to be @kmac048?

What Does the Coaching Staff Think?: As of two days ago I hadn’t found much, but last night this nugget popped up from Coach McIntyre:

Looks like McIntosh is impressing, along with classmate John Austin Ricks.

Interesting Nugget O' Interest: While he scored on him in high school, during club seasons, McIntosh and fellow Class of 2020 recruit Jake Leahy were teammates on the MatchFit Academy FC squad.
