2015 Stats: Played quarterback, threw 40 touchdown passes and set the school record for passing yards during his time at Thousand Islands High School.

2016 Projections: Gilfus is far down on the depth chart, so it will take some injuries and poor performances for him to see the field this season.

How'd He Get Here?: Gilfus joined the Orange in January of 2016 as a preferred walk-on. He received interest from Buffalo as well as some Ivy League and Patriot League schools.

What'd Recruiting Sites Say?: Gilfus was not ranked by recruiting sites.

What Does the Coaching Staff Think of Him?: They haven't commented publicly, but considering Coach Babers decided to keep his preferred walk-on standing after taking over for Shafer, must mean they think pretty highly of him.

Interesting Nugget O'Interest: Tyler Gilfus was coached in high school by his father, Joe Gilfus. Also his mother is an employee at SU.
