Nothing in this world is said to be certain but death, taxes, and an annual basketball game between the Syracuse Orange and Colgate Raiders. The 169th meeting between the two programs is set for Friday, November 11.
Syracuse holds a 123-45 advantage in the series and has won every game since 1962. SU won the first meeting in 1902 by a score of 33-8 and hasn't looked back since. We'll have to see if the Orange keep their streak of scoring 78 points vs. the Raiders intact. They've won by scores of 78-43 and 78-51 in the last two seasons.
Colgate is coming off of a 13-17 season in which they went 9-9 in the Patriot League. Matt Langel is in his sixth season as Colgate's head coach with a 61-95 record.
Syracuse's November schedule is filling out and there probably won't be too many more additions, if any. After this game, SU begins play in the Brooklyn Hoops Holiday Invitational by hosting Holy Cross (Nov. 15), Monmouth (Nov. 18), and South Carolina State (Nov. 22) before headed to Barclays Center on Nov. 25 to play South Carolina. After that they head to Madison on November 29 to take on Wisconsin in the Big 10/ACC Challenge.
