Tight End Tyler Provo will not play football for the Syracuse Orange this season. According to SU Athletics, the redshirt junior has been medically disqualified with an as-of-now undisclosed injury.
Provo was listed fourth of five tight ends on SU's post-spring depth chart. He appeared in eight games over the past two seasons, playing mostly on special teams.
Provo is the younger brother of two-year starter Nick Provo, who holds SU's all-time record for career receptions by a tight end (92).
Syracuse is now expected to have four scholarship tight ends on the roster this fall: senior Cameron MacPherson, senior Kendall Moore, redshirt senior Josh Parris and redshirt junior P.J. Batten. The top three are all headed into their final seasons of eligibility, although Kendall Moore does still have a redshirt left to use.
Stephen Bailey of Syracuse.com noticed Provo's absence when SU Athletics released the official updated team roster for the ACC Media Guide.

Notably absent from Syracuse's roster: TE Tyler Provo. Walk-on WR Troy Green, WR Nesean Crofford (Cornell) & DB Eric Jackson also gone.— Stephen Bailey (@Stephen_Bailey1) July 19, 2016
As Bailey mentioned, Provo is not the only name absent from the Orange's ACC Media Guide roster. A trio of walk-ons are also not listed on the official roster. Wide receivers Troy Green and Nesean Crofford, and defensive back Eric Jackson appear to have left the program based on their absence.
Syracuse has not yet announced when preseason camp will begin. The Orange kicks off its season against Colgate on September 2.
