Syracuse Women's Basketball: Orange Add Coppin State to 2016-17 Schedule

They'll also host "School Day" as part of the game.

The Syracuse Orange women's basketball team has added another name to the 2016-17 schedule. Today, the team announced it will host the Coppin State Eagles at the Carrier Dome on Wednesday, December 7. The game will be part of a special "School Day" event, as the teams tip off at 11 a.m. ET.

As Cuse.com details, "School Day" invites students from second to eighth grade to attend the game and also two pregame presentations as well. For schools that would like to get more information and/or attend the event, they'll need to confirm participation (by emailing teamsu@syr.edu) by August 15.

The date against Coppin State makes for the Orange's fifth confirmed game this fall. Previously, it was announced that the national runner-ups would be participating in the Gulf Coast Showcase where they'll face George Washington and a collection of other teams that could include Florida Gulf Coast or Ohio State (three games total in the event). Additionally, SU will host Michigan State as part of the ACC/Big Ten Challenge this year.
