Despite a two-week recruiting dead period which came to a close yesterday, the Syracuse Orange have managed to keep the fresh blood coming. ILB Keirston Johnson, DB Ifeatu Melifonwu, and OLB Kadeem Trotter have all committed to Syracuse during the dead period. But the recruiting success doesn't stop with the commitments, as priority 2017 OT target Tyran Hunt recently put the Orange in his top seven.
Hunt, a 6-foot-6 275 pound tackle from Southampton HS in Virginia, holds a three-star rating from Scout.com. The other schools in his top seven are UNC, Wake Forest, NC State, Maryland, Virginia, and Virginia Tech.
Much love to all that believe in me! Shoutout to @csmithedits for the sick edit too. pic.twitter.com/lkTWbnpmBr

In an interview with Stephen Bailey of Syracuse.com, Hunt mentioned that he pictures Syracuse as a good academic fit, as he wants to study either mass communication or criminal justice in college. Hunt also said that among the schools in his top seven, the Syracuse staff makes the most regular contact.
"They stay involved," Hunt told Bailey. "A lot of schools offer you and then you won't here from them anymore. ... I really love the energy they give off. I want to get up there and see the campus for myself."
Hunt would be a key recruit for the Orange and they hope to make the cut when he narrows his list of schools down to three. The date for that list trim is tentatively scheduled for August 20th.
