It has long been said that Dave Bing is the most important and influential basketball recruit to come to Syracuse. Well, according to Jim Boeheim anyway. But that sentiment is hard to argue as Bing set the stage for Syracuse Orange basketball and blazed a path for Syracuse greats to follow.
Now, Bing -- widely considered one of the best players to ever play the sport of basketball -- is claiming that Steph Curry is the best shooter to ever play the game. In a recent exchange with SU alum Michael Rothstein (no, not Jon Rothstein) Bing stated...
"He is absolutely the best shooter that has played the game. Nobody's close, except his teammate."
The notion that Curry is the best shooter of all time isn't a new thought among basketball circles. Charles Barkley -- widely known for his intellect, profound college basketball acumen and mastery of the touchscreen -- considers Curry the best shooter of all time as well, among others.
"And he carries himself well. He's a professional. I like the way he carries himself. His family. His teammates. The community, all of that is important," Continued Bing.
Bing also disclosed his rooting interest for the NBA Finals. He noted that Cleveland hasn't had a championship team in 52 years and being that Dan Gilbert is from Detroit and therefor was pulling for the Cavs.
