Team USA basketball will be headed to Rio De Janeiro, Brazil this summer to try to win another gold medal. Former Syracuse Orange star Carmelo Anthony returns to the team once again, as does SU coach Jim Boeheim in his (likely) final run under Duke's Mike Krzyzewski.
As the senior U.S. squad prepares to head to Brazil, they'll utilize additional young players to help train and prepare them for the competition ahead. One of those young players will be former Syracuse forward Jerami Grant.
Grant is among a number of NBA players on the USA Men's Select Team this summer, which will train with Team USA in Las Vegas from July 18-21. In his second NBA season with the Philadelphia 76ers, Grant scored 9.7 points per game to go with 4.7 rebounds per.
As Syracuse.com's Donna Ditota points out, the Select Team is usually a solid pipeline for the future Team USA team. Obviously Grant earned his way onto this squad, but having Boeheim on staff will clearly assist too.

Full Select Team roster includes a bunch of former ACC basketball players. Malcolm Brogdon, Rodney Hood, Brandon Ingram, Brice Johnson, Jahlil Okafor, Jabari Parker and Justise Winslow are all former ACC players who've also made the cut on this roster.
