Syracuse Football Recruiting: 2017 3-Star TE Aaron Hackett Puts Syracuse in Top 5

The 6'3'' 225 pound TE from Florida will visit Syracuse in July.

Two weeks ago, the Syracuse Orange offered Aaron Hackett a scholarship as part of the 2017 recruiting class. Hackett is a three-star tight end from Venice, Florida. He is 6'3'' and 225 pounds and currently plays for Venice High School.

Hackett already has a connection to the Orange as his tight end coach at Venice High School is former Syracuse tight end Beckett Wales. Good sign.

Stephen Bailey reports that Hackett says Wales's connection is having an impact in his recruitment "(Wales) definitely wants me to take a visit and check it out for myself. He wants me to explore it and go wherever I feel most comfortable."

Hackett also said that at any point in his recruitment if he feels ready, he won't delay his commitment. "I think that if I find the right school for me, I'll commit and I'll be happy about it."

Hackett is ranked as the No. 77 tight end in the class of 2017 and has listed SU in his top five alongside USF, Lousiville, FAU and Cincinnati. He also holds offers from Kentucky, Minnesota, Iowa State, UConn, and a few others.

Hackett is scheduled to visit Syracuse the weekend of July 30th. If all goes well, Syracuse could add an 11th player to its class of 2017.
