For Syracuse Orange (and other) fans, the long-awaited Taurean Thompson college choice is almost upon us.
Thompson, a highly regarded forward from New York City, will make his college decision following a visit to Michigan State in the near future. The Spartans hadn't recruited him until late, making the suspense for his decision that much higher.
Thompson said he had not yet scheduled the Michigan State visit, but added that it would not take place this weekend.
Thompson attended Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro, N.H., this past year. He spent his first three years of high school at St. Anthony's in Jersey City, N.J.
Thompson has narrowed his college choices down to Syracuse, Seton Hall, and Michigan State. He is a top 100 prospect in 2016, and would be a huge get for a Syracuse team who is hurting for frontcourt help. With three scholarships remaining, this absolutely is a player the Orange want to sign. Thompson would join shooting guard Tyus Battle and small forward Matthew Moyer in a class that could make a huge impact on the court next season.
