Syracuse Orange Continue Record-Pace in Director's Cup Standings

NCAA Lacrosse: Women's Semifinal - Syracuse Orange vs. Maryland Terrapins Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports

The first Spring update of the Learfield Directors' Cup standings has been released and the Syracuse Orange find themselves in a program-record best 11th place with 830.50 points. Syracuse trails the 10th-place California Bears by 2.75 points with the Orange still having the possibility of points in next week's NCAA Outdoor Track Championships.

The Stanford Cardinal continue to hold a commanding lead. The North Carolina Tar Heels (5th) and the Virginia Cavaliers (7th) are the only ACC teams currently ahead of Syracuse. The next update to the standings will be released on June 14th and will include results of Softball, Men's Golf, and M&W Outdoor Track. Final standings will be released by July 1st at the conclusion of the College World Series.

Syracuse has received points in this competition from 11 teams, which sets a new school record. The latest scoring update includes 83 points from Women's Lacrosse, 60 points from Men's Lacrosse, 50 points from Tennis, and 51 points from Women's Rowing.

The 2015-16 season has seen six Syracuse teams advance to the Final Fours of their respective sports, which is only behind Stanford's eight. 15 of Syracuse's 20 sports advanced to the National Championships in their respective sports, including the Men's Crew team which is competing this weekend in the IRA Championship Regatta.
