Every year, Syracuse Orange fans look forward to the incoming class of football players to form the new base from which the program can grow. And every year, there's always a couple guys who unfortunately don't make it into camp for one reason or another. The first casualty of the 2016 NLI signees is officially in as we learn RB Jo-El Shaw reportedly did not qualify academically and will head to Lackawanna College to play JUCO ball.
We would like to welcome RB and Syracuse signee Jo-El Shaw to the Falcon family! #LackLife @HesLikeDat_7 pic.twitter.com/yKsoGMFhoQ

Nate Mink added that Shaw reportedly didn't qualify, though that's not yet confirmed.
The 6'1", 210-pound RB chose SU over Western Michigan and was rated three stars across the board. Jo-El recently took part in the Big 33 Classic as well.
Good luck, Jo-El. Someone else will eventually get to use all the Superman puns we were looking forward to using.
