Get To Know Your Orange Man - No. 76, OL Keaton Darney

Let's get to know one of SU's walk-on offensive linemen.

Keaton Darney

Name: Keaton Darney

Position: Offensive tackle

Year: Redshirt sophomore

Height: 6'3"

Weight: 283

Hometown: Los Angeles, Calif.

High School: Loyola

2014 Stats: Darney did not see any playing time last season.

2015 Projections: Keaton is down in the No. 3 spot at right guard right now behind Omari Palmer and Colin Byrne. As a walk-on, he's there to fill in if needed.

How'd He Get Here: He grew up in Glendora, just east of Los Angeles and played guard and center at Loyola High School, which claims to be the oldest running school in Southern California. Darney made the team as a walk-on prior to 2014.

What'd Scout/Rivals Say: Unrated.

Links of Wonder: Imagine going 65 years without playing a home game? That's just what his high school football team did until two years ago. The team goes to other venues for its home games because Loyola lacks the parking and permanent seating needed. Two years ago the team held its first true on-campus homecoming in decades last and won in front of a sold-out crowd.

Tweets of Wonder:

What Does The Coaching Staff Think of Him: They appreciate his hustle, we imagine.

Interesting Nugget O'Interest: His brother Kamden Darney is a long snapper for Ole Miss.

Interesting Nugget O'Interest 2: Darney acted like LSU's fullback on the scout team when the Orange prepped for the Tigers' dominant run game last year.
