Syracuse Football: Annual 'Lift for Life' Event Set for July 20

The Syracuse Chapter of Uplifting Athletes will hold its annual Lift For Life event on Wednesday, July 20th starting at 7:00 p.m. Open to the public, the fundraiser at Manley Field House is a chance to raise money to help fight rare diseases and bring attention to those dealing with them.

This is be the fourth Syracuse Chapter Lift For Life as part of Uplifting Athletes.

The way it works is that the Syracuse Orange football team has been divided into nine groups. Team Dungey, Team MacPherson, Team Mahoney, Team Wilson, Team Anthony, Team Emerich, Team Scissum, Team Franklin, and Team Foster. Teams will compete in a variety of events such as the tire flip race and the "prowler push." The top four teams then advance to the semifinals where a "plate hold" will determine the two finalists. The finalists will then determine a winner with a good old fashioned tug-of-war.

It's your job to back one or more of those teams with your donations, which you can make here. You can also make a general donation as well. The goal is to raise $15,000 this year. The chapter raised $11,000 last year.
