As mentioned yesterday, the Syracuse Orange football program has been very busy on the recruiting trail of late. The trend continues today with yet another commitment. Fayetteville-Manlius High School athlete Eric Coley announced his decision via Twitter this morning:
I wanna give thanks to the man upstairs I would like to announce my commitment to Syracuse University #orange pic.twitter.com/9Gi951nfXr

Coley is a three-star player and ranked the no. 1 athlete in New York by Scout. He plays cornerback at F-M, but it's unclear yet where he'll be slotted in for Syracuse -- though defensive back would certainly make a lot of sense.
He picked the Orange over offers from Rutgers, Utah State, Bowling Green, Buffalo and other MAC options. Coley camped at Syracuse last week, and afterward told Scout he could see himself at SU.

That makes it eight players now in the class of 2017, and five in the last week or so. If Coley ends up playing corner, he'll be the first member of the secondary in this class, but the third defensive player. Outside linebacker Tyrell Richards committed last week, while defensive end Zach Morton did so back in May.
Welcome aboard, Eric!
