The already highly-decorated Kayla Treanor of Syracuse Orange women's lacrosse just added another trophy to the case. Treanor has been named the ACC's Scholar Athlete of the Year in Women's Lacrosse.
Additionally, Treanor was one of seven Syracuse women's lax members to earn a spot on the All-ACC Academic Team. Allie Murray, Kelly Cross, Halle Majorana, Mallory Vehar, Caroline Webster and Riley Donahue were the other six from the Orange that made the academic team, and the seven total members was a league best.
We're starting to sound like a broken record when it comes to Kayla and her accolades. She was named the IWLCA Attacker of the Year, she is a three time finalist for the Tewaartaon Award, a three time Honda Award finalist, and basically the best women's lacrosse player in Syracuse history. Yeah, pretty impressive, and that's not even the entire list of everything she's accomplished.
The minimum requirements for the Scholar Athlete of the Year award are a 3.0 GPA in the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative GPA. Athletic achievements are also considered.
It's always good to see athletes that succeed both on and off the field.
