Get To Know Your Orange Man - #89 TE Josh Parris

Next up is returning tight end starter Josh Parris who looks to improve on his best campaign last season.

Glenn Beil-USA TODAY Sports

Name: Josh Parris

Position: Tight end

Year: Redshirt Senior

Height: 6' 4"

Weight: 242

Hometown: Stone Mountain, Georgia

High School: Stephenson

2015 Stats: He was the third-best among all receivers with 21 receptions for 140 yards. Parris had a season-long 13-yard grab against Florida State on Halloween.

2016 Projections: He currently sits as the number three tight end on the post-spring depth chart, behind Cameron MacPherson and Kendall Moore. He was limited this spring due to injury concerns. All three were starters at some point last season, with Parris receiving the bulk of the nods from former head coach Scott Shafer.

How'd He Get Here?: Before he chose to come to Syracuse, he had committed to the University of South Florida. He de-committed after the Bulls told him they wanted to convert him into a fullback. Parris chose the Orange over Boston College, Ole Miss and Vanderbilt.

What'd Recruiting Sites Say?: He received three stars each from Rivals, Scout and ESPN.

Money Quote: This quote may be a couple of years old now, but it's still relevant, as Parris has been the most productive of the tight end group over the past two seasons.

"Josh (Parris) is probably the closest to what we're looking for," (then) tight ends coach Bobby Acosta said. "He can run block, he could be a passing reciever, he could be a fullback in the backfield."

Twitterfeed: He, unfortunately, doesn't seem to have one.

What Does Babers Think of Him?: He hasn't said anything specifically about Parris yet. Dino doesn't seem to use tight ends as much as Tim Lester did, but we shall see for certain come September. If he stays healthy, his athleticism could become a key component of his game.

Interesting Nugget O' Interest: Parris' high school, Stephenson, churned out more than a dozen Division-1 recruits during his graduating year.

Let's Get A Good Look Atcha: Parris seems to have pretty good hands in this clip from spring practices.
