Major League Lacrosse has announced the event roster for the 2016 MLL All-Star Game, which will be held on July 9 at Titan Stadium in Fullerton, Calif., the home of Cal State Fullerton.
The two teams will be chosen in 'fantasy draft' style the night before the game by this year's "MLL Ultimate Fan Fantasy" contest winners. The game will be televised on CBS Sports Network at 7 pm E.T.
The overall roster contains 40 players broken up into eight attackmen, 14 midfielders, 10 defenders, four goalies and four face-off specialists.
Syracuse has placed six former players on the roster of 40, which is tied for the most by any school with Maryland. Outside of the Orange and Terps, no other school had more than three former players being represented.
The six Syracuse players are goalie John Galloway (Class of 2011), defender Joel White (2011), midfielder Matt Abbott (2009), midfielder JoJo Marasco (2013), attackman Randy Staats (2015) and attackman Kevin Rice (2015).
The 2016 MLL All-Stars are good proof of how well former Syracuse players are doing in the professional ranks, and this list certainly includes some of the most talented and successful players in recent Syracuse lacrosse history.
Congratulations to the former Orange men. Way to make the Syracuse lacrosse community proud!
