The Syracuse Orange men's lacrosse squad weren't the only team to make the NCAA Tournament tonight. Over in the women's lacrosse bracket, SU received a four-seed and a first-round bye for the second consecutive season.
Like the men's team, the Syracuse women will also play next on Sunday, May 15. They'll face the winner of the first round matchup between Stony Brook and Boston College... but in Newton, Mass. because SU is unable to host. While they haven't faced the Seawolves at all this season, the Orange have played BC twice. They lost a road game to the Eagles 13-8 earlier in the season, but later defeated them in the ACC Tournament, 16-11.
SU's women are one of seven ACC teams to make the field this spring. Conference champion North Carolina is a third seed, while Notre Dame is a six. Boston College will play that first round game vs. Stony Brook, while Virginia (vs. Johns Hopkins), Duke (vs. Loyola) and Louisville (vs. Northwestern) also play in the first round.

The full bracket is here for those who want to see the entire 26-team field. If the Orange want to get back to the Final Four, they'll need to defeat the SBU/BC winner, plus the winner of USC and Stanford/James Madison. Should they return to the National Semfinals, they'll have to face top-seed Maryland who ended their season last spring.
Congrats to the SU women, and plenty more coming in advance of their quarterfinals matchup.
