Syracuse Softball: Sydney O'Hara, AnnaMarie Gatti Earn NFCA Regional Honors

Sydney O'Hara and AnnaMarie Gatti received All-Mid-Atlantic Region honors from the National Fastpitch Coaches Association earlier today.

Two Syracuse players were awarded for their performances at the plate and in the circle this season.

Junior relief pitcher Sydney O'Hara earned her second NFCA regional recognition with second team honors. She led the ACC with her 1.47 ERA, good for 16th in the country as well. She held opponents to a .167 batting average and 4.06 hits per game. O'Hara had five of the Orange's conference-best eight saves. On the batting side, she had 37 hits, including five doubles, a triple, and six home runs, had the fourth-best batting average at .272 on the season, and had the second-best RBI total with 29.

Sophomore AnnaMarie Gatti received her first NFCA regional honors, third team, with a 2.63 ERA over 157 innings. She had 27 starts and 33 total appearances including 12 complete games and five complete game shutouts.

The NFCA awards players in all 10 of their regions with first. second, and third team honors. All players chosen within their region are then eligible to receive national recognition with the All-America awards announced on Wednesday, June 1st at 5:00 pm ET.
