Syracuse Football: Former Syracuse DE Qaadir Sheppard Transfers to Ole Miss

Farewell Qaadir, we hardly knew ye.

Former Syracuse Orange defensive end Qaadir Sheppard intends to transfer to Ole Miss, he announced on his Instagram page Friday. Sheppard was previously dismissed from the team in February due to a violation of team rules.

Sheppard was one of just 15 true freshmen to appear in a game last season, but multiple off-the-field incidents derailed his short-lived Syracuse career. The 6'3 247-pound defensive end recorded one tackle and one interception in Syracuse's first nine games before being suspended for the final three after a second failed drug test.

Due to the NCAA's transfer policy, Sheppard will be forced to sit out the entire 2016-2017 season. He will then have three seasons of eligibility remaining.
