Syracuse Football Recruiting: Orange Add Preferred Walk-On RB Otto Zaccardo

The Orange land one of the most appropriately-named recruits ever.

The Syracuse Orange have added a class of 2016 running back. Massachusetts running back Otto Zaccardo announced his commitment to the Orange last night on Twitter.

Zaccardo comes from Worcester Academy, where he was a postgraduate student, which is an extra year after 12th grade that can be completed at some private boarding schools. He previously attended Lincoln-Sudbury High School, where, according to the Sudbury Town Crier, he rushed for 1,127 yards and 14 touchdowns his senior year in 2015. He also ran track for the school, and the local paper named him the Sudbury 2015 Male Athlete of the Year.

He's the second running back addition of 2016, joining Jo-El Shaw, who arrives this fall. If you want, you can also count Moe Neal as an additional running back. There are somewhere between five and seven total on the 2016 roster, depending on whether or not you count Neal and Philips and running backs.

ESPN's recruiting profile for Zaccardo lists him at 5-foot-10 and 180 pounds. He clocked a 4.56 40-yard dash time, and is not ranked by recruiting sites.

Syracuse.com confirmed that Zaccardo is a preferred walk-on -- the second this week following Adam Dulka's own commitment a few days back.

It remains to be seen if Otto will wear large white gloves on the field.
