Syracuse Women's Lacrosse: Kayla Treanor Named ACC Offensive Player of the Week

The Orange's best players are heating up at the right time.

When tournament time comes around the best team might win, but often champions are made from the teams who hit a hot streak at the right time. Syracuse Orange women's lacrosse might have both advantages going for it right now.

Not only has the Orange gone 7-1 since losing three of five games in March and climbed back to No. 5 in the latest USILA poll, but SU also has future hall-of-famer Kayla Treanor working for it. Monday, Treanor was given ACC Offensive Player of the Week honors for the second time this season, and with good reason. In two games last week she tallied four goals and four assists, and the last goal (against Louisville Saturday) made Treanor Syracuse's all-time leader in goals scored.

Treanor will take her 251 goals (which is also good for 11th most in the Divison I record books) into the ACC Tournament Thursday when the Orange looks for revenge against Boston College. The Eagles beat the Orange 13-8 in the regular season and held SU to it's worst scoring output of the year.
