Syracuse Orange basketball has extended an offer to Ethan Thompson, a 6-foot-5, 170 pound shooting guard from Bishop Montgomery in California, according to Scout. Ethan is son to former Syracuse great Stevie Thompson, who suited up for the Orange for four years in the late 80s.

Thompson is ranked 58th on Scout in the 2017 class. He is now the fifth guard in the 2017 class the Orange have offered, following Brandon RandolphTrevon DuvalQuade Green, and Hamidou Diallo. The basketball staff have been busy on the recruiting trail and will be working hard this weekend hosting three 2017 targets, including the aforementioned Green and Diallo.

The Cali guard is also being pursued by Oregon State and Cal, among others. Ethan's father Stevie is currently an assistant coach for the Beavers, and his older brother Stephen Jr. is currently a freshman in Corvallis, so it's likely a tough contest for the Orange to get him to leave the West Coast.
