Coach Dino Babers Personally Invites You (Yes, You!) to Syracuse's Home Opener

On September 2nd, Syracuse Orange football begins a new era under Head Coach Dino Babers when they take on the Colgate Raiders. Monday, Syracuse Athletics shared a video of Coach Babers asking Syracuse fans to fill up the Carrier Dome to show their support for the Orange. He also declared September 2nd "Youth Football Night."

All youth football teams are invited to attend the game in their jerseys, with the first 10 teams that register and purchase tickets getting an opportunity for a pre-game experience. Teams are also invited to Youth Football on the Quad and to pose on the field of the Carrier Dome for a team photo.

It's always good to see Syracuse reach out to the local youth teams, because that's how you build fans and also help grow the sport. We've already delved into the attendance woes last season, and speculated that attendance will be better next year regardless, but initiatives from the athletic department to reach out to fans are always welcome and hopefully helpful in creating an atmosphere on game day.
