The votes have been counted and we now know who has won the 2016 Syracuse Orange Blogger Awards. Below you'll find the winners of a few more categories. Specifically, Best Player, Best Moment & Most Surprising Player.
Let's get to it...
Best Player
TNIAAM Vote: Michael Gbinije with the clean sweep.
Commenter Vote: It actually looks like we forgot to put this one up to a vote. Oops.
Winner: Michael Gbinije, then.
Best Moment
TNIAAM Vote: It was posed a lot of different ways but "the comeback vs. Virginia" was the runaway winner.
Commenter Vote: You guys seemed to split it between Tyler Lydon's block vs. Gonzaga and the end of the Virginia game and subsequent net-cutting.
Winner: How about we just call "The end of the Virginia game" the best moment and cover all our bases?
Most Surprising Player
TNIAAM Vote: Of our ten voters, Frank Howard led the way with five votes. DaJuan Coleman and Tyler Lydon each picked up two apiece. Kaleb Joseph got the final vote, though we think that was for the bad kind of surprise.
Commenter Vote: You guys seemed to put the vote strongly behind Tyler Lydon, as he picked up 54 percent with no one else getting tweny percent.
Winner: Tyler Lydon and his surprisingly friendly mustache.
