Last week Justyn Knight took the vote after a dominating ACC Championships performance. This week, we have another group of outstanding Syracuse Orange athletes for you to vote on. Let's meet the nominees:
Alexis Petersen- W. Basketball
Alexis was named to the ACC 1st-Team for both the regular season and ACC Tournament. Her play helped the Orange reach the ACC Championship game. She is leading the team in points per game (14.9) and assists (4.8).
Stephanie Grossi- Ice Hockey
Stephanie was named to the All CHA 1st Team and it was her goal in triple overtime which sent the Orange into the CHA Championship. She added two points in the title game as the Orange lost to Mercyhurst in Overtime. The sophomore finished the season as Syracuse's leading scorer with 36 points.
Kayla Treanor- W. Lacrosse
Kayla led the Orange with six goals and one assist in the 14-8 victory over Virginia on Saturday. She leads the team with 30 points on the season and is in 3rd place on the all-time list with 228 goals.
Gabriela Knutson- Tennis
Gabriela went 3-1 on the weekend as the Orange lost to both Duke and NC State. She and doubles partner Valeria Salazar won both of their matches, including a win over Duke's Top 20 doubles team.
Jocelyn Cater- Softball
Jocelyn posted two shutout victories for the Orange at the Stacy Winsberg Tournament. She beat CSU Bakersfield and UC Davis, and is now 5-3 on the season.
Danielle Delgado- W. Track & Field
Danielle placed 3rd in the 60m hurdles at the ECAC Championship, finishing in a time of 8.69 seconds, which is a season-best.
Richard Floyd- M. Track & Field
Richard also placed 3rd in the 60m hurdles at the ECAC Championship, with a time of 8.01 seconds.
