2016 NCAA Tournament: Syracuse 7/1 To Win Midwest, 33/1 To Win National Championship

The odds have been updated for the rest of the NCAA Tournament.

Jeff Curry-USA TODAY Sports

The Syracuse Orange came into the 2016 NCAA Tournament as a relative longshot to get this far, let alone win the whole damn thing. The Dayton Flyers opened as a slight favorite over SU in the first round (oops) and the Orange were looking at 150-1 odds at winning the National Title.

Now that the dust has settled and the Orange find themselves in the Sweet Sixteen, those odds have improved, even if they're still one of the longshots.

Odds to win the 2016 NCAA Men's Basketball Championship

Kansas                                      7/2

North Carolina                           17/4

Virginia                                      23/4

Oklahoma                                 15/2

Oregon                                      12/1

Villanova                                   12/1

Duke                                         18/1

Indiana                                      20/1

Texas A&M                               20/1

Gonzaga                                   28/1

Iowa State                                 28/1

Maryland                                   28/1

Miami (Florida)                          28/1

Notre Dame                              33/1

Syracuse                                  33/1

Wisconsin                                 33/1

When it comes to just getting out of the Midwest Regional, the Orange are getting 7-1 odds, which doesn't sound all that bad until you realize everyone else has better ones (even Gonzaga).

Odds to win the Midwest Region

Virginia                                     10/11

Gonzaga                                   3/1

Iowa State                                 9/2

Syracuse                                  7/1

How's that sound? Does it even matter at this point?
