The 4-seed Syracuse Orange (25-7) will host an NCAA Tournament game for the first-time ever today when they play the 13-seed Army Black Knights (29-2) in the first round of the 2016 NCAA Tournament.
Opening tip is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. EST and the game will be televised on ESPN2.
First-things-first, if you want to make a day of it, you can head to the Carrier Dome early and buy a ticket for both games (Florida vs. Albany play first) and watch the Syracuse men's game in the concourse. It's not the comfiest way to do it but it's a great way to support the women's program while also rooting on the men's team like you normally would.
Max broke down what the Orange are in store for with the Knights. While they haven't played great competition, they can score in bunches. Still, their record might overstate just how good they are given the level of opponents. They were 0-1 against the only ranked team they played all year.
The team has been making the media rounds all week to drum up support and ticket purchases. They even hung out in the mall shooting hoops and riding horses. Let's hope it paid off with a decent turnout.
