It's not often you can get a day when both Syracuse Orange basketball squads are playing in the NCAA Tournament and one of those games actually takes place in the Carrier Dome.
Yes, we know, your focus is on the men's squad and their match-up vs. the Dayton Flyers. But don't forget that this is the perfect opportunity to get on the bandwagon for the women's team as they open tourney play vs. the Army Black Knights.
Obviously, you're sick that day. Please notify your boss and clients ahead of time.
Your day begins early (especially if you're on the West Coast) as the men's squad takes on Dayton at 12:15 p.m. ET. in St. Louis. The game will be televised on CBS as well as the NCAA Tournament streaming online. Unfortunately, if you had big ideas about going to the Carrier Dome early and watching the game on the big screen, that's an NCAA no-no so you can't do it. But, if you are in the area, you might as well watch the game at Faegan's.
That way, you can run to the Carrier Dome at the conclusion of that game for the women's team's game vs. Army. That's scheduled to tip at 2:30 p.m. If you get there early you might catch the end of the Florida - Albany game beforehand so you can do a little advanced scouting. Then, sit back and enjoy the first-ever Syracuse NCAA Tournament game actually in Syracuse. And if you're not in town for the game, just tune over to ESPN2 to watch it.
Afterward, race to a TV to find out how much Michigan State beats Middle Tennessee by because (assuming SU wins) that's who the Orange will face in Round 2.
After that, you're on your own. Hopefully, it's a messy, fun experience you get to repeat in full on Sunday.
