National Signing Day 2016: RB Moe Neal Already on Campus for Syracuse

Moe Neal enrolled early, but we profile him along with the rest of the 2016 class anyway.

Moe Neal's Twitter Feed

Moe Neal enrolled early, so no fax machine for him today. Still, we wanted to give you a full rundown on the celebrated running back/slot receiver who already seems well-adjusted to life at Syracuse.

Twitterfeed: @Captainmoe21_

High School: Forestview High School (Gastonia, N.C.)

Position: Running Back/Slot Receiver

Stats: 5'10", 161 pounds

Main Recruiter: Neal was a holdover from the old staff, and it seemed like a team effort to get him onboard.

Commitment Date: August 1, 2015

Ratings: Moe gets 3 stars across the board from the recruiting services and grades out as Syracuse's top-rated commit for the class of 2016. That'll remain true unless something unforeseen happens on Wednesday.

Other Offers: He chose between Syracuse and Wake Forest back in August, but received offers from a whole host of schools including Boston College, Duke, Georgia Tech, Mississippi State, NC State and West Virginia (among others).

Player Breakdown:

Neal was recruited to fill the old "hybrid" role in Tim Lester's offensive scheme, but his speed and general quickness with the football should still fit just fine in Dino Babers's attack. He is the Gaston (N.C.) County record-holder for yards and points, after all.

Expect Neal to be a jack-of-all-trades in a similar vein to returning Syracuse players like Ervin Philips and Dontae Strickland -- in essence, he'll be a slot receiver that takes handoffs now and again. Adding him to an already promising group of Orange skill players in the SU offense could pay dividends as soon as this year. But even if he redshirts 2016, Neal is very likely to be a key contributor for Syracuse down the road.
