After decommitting from Illinois, it was a short time later that Tim Walton verbally committed to play inside linebacker for Dino Barbers and the Syracuse Orange.
High School: Cass Technical High School (Detroit)
Position: Inside Linebacker
Stats: 6'2", 225 pounds
Main Recruiter: Michigan recruiting dynamo Vinson Reynolds created a great connection with him at Western Michigan, so it was an easier sell to flip Walton from Illinois late in the process.
Commitment Date: January 26, 2016
Other Offers: Illinois, Bowling Green, Ball State, Cincinnati, Central Michigan, Western Michigan and a bunch of other MAC teams.
Player Breakdown: Watson has the potential to be an every down linebacker. He is strong and shows bursts of speed when in the box, where he is best. Watson is good at making tackles in space, and learning how to follow through and wrap up will be key in him taking his game to the next level. His vision is another aspect of his game that needs to be developed. As long as Watson puts in the work, he will become a good ILB for this 'Cuse defense. Welcome to Syracuse, Tim!
