The mustache that lauched a thousand Twitter parody accounts has been manscaped to Heaven.
Rico, the fuzzy catepillar that affixed itself to Tyler Lydon's face and Syracuse Orange fans' hearts, is no more.

We first met Rico in early February and his arrival seemed to coincide with Syracuse's resurgance on the court. Win after win, Rico only grew in power. And while we wondered if Lydon was simply biding time before the eventual facial hair look that all great Syracuse stars wear, we understood that something special could be happening here as well. Rico willed the Orange to win after win and it looked as though a new tradition was about to take hold. For the hockey beard, this was the Orange stache.
Then the Louisville loss happened. And perhaps that's when Tyler and Rico both knew that the dream had been torn asunder. I like to imagine that as Tyler stood there, razor in hand, Rico had no idea what was happening.
Tyler: We're gonna build a little place.
Rico: Okay, yeah, we're gonna build a little place and we're gonna...
Tyler: We're gonna...
Rico: ...have...
Tyler: We're gonna have new seating, and really good in-stadium WiFi, and we're gonna have, maybe, maybe, craft beer concessions. Down in the flat, we'll have a little field under...
Rico: Under the retractable roof...
Tyler: ...paid for by taxpayers.
Rico: And I get to tend the retractable roof-
