Syracuse Football Recruiting: Huge Visiting Weekend for Orange

This will be a huge recruiting weekend for Syracuse as they will have 21 prospects on campus.

Raj Mehta-USA TODAY Sports

The Syracuse Orange staff are laying out the red carpet for recruits this weekend as they are welcoming 21 potential prospects to campus. Here are all the prospects expected to be on campus this Saturday:

Class of 2017:

QB Kasim Hill

Kasim Hill is a four-star quarterback out of Washington, D.C. Hill has been on the Orange radar for a long time, as he was offered by the old staff at a camp before he even started high school. He has also caught the eye of the new staff, who will make him a priority in the 2017 class as they look to add more playmaking QBs to the current roster which only boasts five playcallers, two of which are walk-ons.

OLB Isaiah McDuffie

McDuffie is one of two 2017 players already committed to the Orange. While he committed to Shafer and his staff, Babers and his staff are doing all they can to keep the three-star Buffalo, NY native who was named New York State Defensive Player of the Year by USA Today.

RB Tayon Fleet-Davis

Fleet-Davis is a three-star running back out of Maryland. The Orange are competing with the likes of Rutgers, Maryland, West Virginia, NC State, and others for the shifty 5-foot-11 back.

OT Tyler Beach

Beach is a three-star tackle out of Wisconsin, a state where the Orange picked up two lineman in the 2016 class (Sam Heckel and Airon Servais). The 6-foot-6 tackle has garnered other offers from the likes of Michigan and Wisconsin.

OT Ethan Wiederkehr

Wiederkehr is a three-star tackle who is not only an in-state prospect, but also an Orange legacy as his father Hans was part of the line in the 1980s that also boasted Doug Marrone. He also holds offers from Rutgers, Maryland, and Northwestern amongst others.

OT Pat Bartlett

Bartlett is a 6-foot-6 315 pound tackle out of Newtown, PA. He does not yet hold an offer from the Orange, but looks to possibly get one this weekend. His only FBS offer to date comes from Illinois (who Syracuse seems to love stealing recruits from).

WR Tariq Castro-Fields

Castro-Fields is a 3-star wide receiver from Maryland. His other FBS offers include Maryland, Pitt, and Rutgers. He is joined on his Syracuse trip by teammate OT Christian Darrisaw.

ILB Dan Damico

Damico is a linebacker out of local Christian Brothers Academy in Syracuse. He currently does not boast any FBS offers, but the staff has expressed interest.

OT Mason Cholewa

Cholewa is a 6-foot-6 250 pound lineman out of Pennsylvania. He currently does not boast any FBS offers, but the staff has expressed interest.

RB Weston Bridges

Bridges is a three-star running back out of Ohio. The big 6-foot-1 200 pound back has 4.46 speed and holds offers from the likes of Bowling Green, Buffalo, and Indiana amongst others. He does not hold an offer currently, but hopes to get one on his visit.

OC Owen Drexel

Drexel is a center from New Jersey. He currently holds one offer from Rutgers but interest is quickly picking up for Drexel and he hopes to receive an offer from the Orange.

RB Mylique McGriff

McGriff is a running back from Maryland. The elusive back doesn't currently boast any offers but he is receiving enough interest from the Orange staff to have him on campus.

WR Noah Jordan-Williams

Jordan-Williams is a local Syracuse product who attends nearby Christian Brothers Academy. He had an offer from the old staff, but he needs to develop a relationship with the new staff before things can proceed.

TE Myles Wright

Wright is a tight end recruit from Maryland. He already holds ACC offers from Duke, Wake Forest, and NC State. It would be interesting to see if Syracuse would offer him as a TE seeing as they are so seldom used in Babers' offense.

OL Tommy Connolly

Tommy Connolly is an offensive lineman from Ohio who is teammates at Copley High School with Weston Bridges, who is also visiting.

OG Kyle Schreiner

Schreiner is a 6-foot-6 305 pound lineman from Fairport, NY just outside of Rochester. He is another interior lineman who could be an interesting prospect. He does not currently have any offers.

OT Christian Darrisaw

Darrisaw is a 6-foot-5 260 pound lineman from Maryland who is making the trip with teammate Tariq Castro-Fields. He does not currently have any offers.

OLB Keisean Wilson

Wilson is a 6-foot-2 225 linebacker from Maryland. He currently holds five offers, but none from power five schools. However, it would not be surprising if that changed this weekend.

DT Marcus Coleman

Coleman is a defensive lineman from Maryland who is visiting with teammates Christian Darrisaw and Tariq Castro-Fields. He is listed at 280, but also runs a 4.60 40-yard dash according to his highlight tape. This certainly makes for an interesting prospect to keep an eye on.

OG Mike Miranda

Miranda is a 3-star offensive lineman from Ohio. At 6-foot-4 300 pounds, his presence on the field has landed him offers from the likes of Northwestern, Boston College, and Bowling Green along with Syracuse.

Class of 2018:

QB DeJuan Ellis

DeJuan Ellis a quarterback from Virginia who will be the only 2018 prospect on campus this weekend. A natural playmaker, the 6-foot 160 pound playcaller also runs a 4.53 40-yard dash. He has received other offers from Maryland, Temple, and Wake Forest.
