The Syracuse Orange women's lacrosse team picked up where it left off with a two-win Sunday to open the season. Also picking up where she left off was Kayla Treanor. The two-time Tewaaraton finalist set a record and scored a bunch of goals on the day and picked up two big honors: ACC Offensive Player of the Week and Inside Lacrosse Player of the Week.
Treanor recorded five points on four goals and an assist to lead the No. 3 Orange to a 17-6 win against No. 13 Loyola. In her first game as the primary player in the circle for the draw for Syracuse, she set the single-game school record with 19 draw controls. That total is the fifth-highest in NCAA Division I history. Treanor helped the Orange to a 22-3 advantage in draw controls.
Treanor and the Orange will try to keep it up this Sunday when they play two more games. If you want, you can see them both for free. You should do that.
