TNIAAM Athlete of the Week- More Coveted Than a Grammy

Tonight's Grammys will be the 2nd best award handed out this week, after the TNIAAM Athlete of the Week.

People keep talking about the little music awards show in Los Angeles, but everyone knows that the most-coveted award this week is the TNIAAM Athlete of the Week. The nominees for Best Syracuse Orange Athlete are:

Briana Butler- W. Basketball

Briana poured in 23 points in the win over Virginia. She added 9 points and 10 rebounds in Sunday's win over NC State.

Khadejia Sellers- W. Track & Field

Khadejia established a new Syracuse school record in the 200m with a time of 23.90. The freshman runner is currently 6th in the ACC in the event.

AnnaMarie Gatti- Softball

AnnaMarie pitched a complete game shutout to lead the Orange to a 1-0 victory over Long Beach State.

Anna Shkuden- Tennis

Anna went 3-1 in Syracuse's two matches this weekend, helping the Orange to wins over Yale and St. John's. Ranked 43rd in the country, Anna has only lost one singles match so far this season for the 6-0 Syracuse squad.

Halle Majorana-W. Lacrosse

Halle notched 5 goals in the Orange's season-opening win over Loyola on Sunday.

Nicole Renault- Ice Hockey

Nicole tallied 4 points in the Syracuse sweep of Robert Morris, which allowed the Orange to clinch a bye in the CHA Playoffs. Nicole is tied for 4th on the team in assists this season.

Colin Bennie- M. Track & Field

Colin broke the long-standing Syracuse record in the 5k with a time of 13:38.81. Bennie's time is 3rd best in the nation in the event this year, and broke the previous record of 13:56.07 established by Jim O'Connell in 1983.
